Microphone Permission

SleepWell requires microphone access to detect snoring and sleep sounds. Here's how we handle audio:

  • Real-time analysis only — Audio is processed in real-time to detect snoring patterns
  • Optional recording — Short audio clips of snoring episodes can be saved locally for your review
  • Never transmitted — Audio never leaves your device
  • You control deletion — Delete recordings anytime from Settings

Notification Permission

We use notifications for:

  • Alarm alerts to wake you up
  • Bedtime reminders (if enabled)
  • Sleep monitoring status

Notifications are processed entirely on your device.

Health Connect Integration

If you choose to connect SleepWell with Health Connect:

  • Sleep data can be shared with Health Connect on your device
  • This sharing is optional and controlled by you
  • Data stays within the Android Health Connect ecosystem
  • We do not have access to data from other Health Connect apps

Data Export (GDPR)

In compliance with GDPR and privacy regulations, you can:

  • Export all your data — Download a complete JSON file of all your sleep data from Settings
  • Delete your data — Clear all recordings and history from Settings
  • No account required — Since we don't collect data, there's no account to delete

Children's Privacy

SleepWell is designed for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Since all data stays on-device, parents maintain full control over the app and its data.

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will:

  • Update the "Last updated" date at the top
  • Notify users through the app if changes are significant
  • Never change our core commitment to local-only data storage
